Sunil Howlader’s style combines the beauty of naturalistic representation with the expressive elements of abstraction, often within a single painting. He adds meaningful colors, lines, and strokes to represent the emotional activities of the psyche. Sunil’s paintings of nature contain symbolism; for instance, water-lilies symbolize beauty, fish represent abundance, and horses our struggle to achieve conscious or unconscious goals. Color, as well, is used symbolically, with white symbolizing the future, blue, dreaming, and green, life.
Sunil received his Master of Fine Arts at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. For more information about the artist go to: www.sunilhowlader.com.
