Strategic Planning

Help Shape the Future of the Lyme Art Association

First of all, we hope you are doing as well as possible in these difficult times. Our blue doors are open and visiting the gallery is, as always, an enjoyable low-contact activity.

Our commitment to supporting artists and inspiring a love of art is as strong as it was when the Lyme Art Association was founded more than a hundred years ago.

We are proud of the Association’s history and want to ensure its continued success. Careful planning is the most important thing we can do right now. Despite the uncertainty in the world – in part because of it – we are working to develop a thoughtful and actionable strategic plan to keep the Lyme Art Association vibrant and sustainable.

Last summer, we surveyed our community, Elected Artists, stakeholders, and board. If you completed a survey or an interview, THANK YOU! Your response helps us understand how we are doing and assists in our planning. We have now completed our Strategic Plan, and are excited to bring it to fruition!

If you have any questions, or if you are interested in getting involved, please reach out to Executive Director Laurie Pavlos at 860-434-7802 or

LAA Final High Level Strategic Plan

  • This year the Lyme Art Association is celebrating the 100th anniversary of our historic gallery. We are asking young artists to look back at the work of the original art colony for inspiration. Landscapes, gardens, mountain laurels in bloom, bridges, rivers, porch scenes, portraits … these would all be great subjects for this show! We invite all young artists ages 5 to 18 to participate in this exciting exhibit.
