Pastel is an ancient material with a rich legacy in the world of color. In this course, we will examine various ways to apply the medium and ways to prepare your own pastel surface. We will use both still life and landscape subjects and end the course with portrait/figure painting (if there is a significant interest). By the end of the course, students will have a deeper understanding of pictorial composition and the use of color as expression.
All levels welcome.
