Hollis Dunlap

Hollis Dunlap was born in 1977 in northern Vermont, USA. He began painting with oils at age 14, studying Renaissance and Baroque painting and drawing extensively, and went on to study at the Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts where he received his BFA in 1999. He has since developed his work into a hybrid of classical and modern styles, exploring a fusion of realist painting with abstract design with a focus on dynamic light effects and brushwork. He is a 2 time recipient of the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation grant and has had numerous solo shows in New York, Boston, San Francisco, and Miami. He currently paints and teaches at his studio in Southeastern CT.
