This course is designed for artists of all skill levels who are unfamiliar with using digital tools. We will explore different types of digital art and workflow techniques. We will discover Procreate for iPad not only for finished digital art, but also as a useful tool for artists who work in physical media. Learn how to use digital tools to create thumbnails, plan compositions, finish sketches, and more. We will also discuss composition, storytelling, and design by analyzing classic and contemporary illustrators.

Procreate is a one-time purchase which updates automatically forever. It is not a subscription service, and they do not use your artwork to train AI. It’s easy to bring an iPad with you wherever you go, so you can work on paintings, sketches, or even simple animations in Procreate. If you’ve ever been curious to learn, this is friendly, low pressure environment!

Materials List:

  • Ipad with procreate and apple pencil
  • Paper-like screen protector – the cheap ones on amazon are usually better than the pricy ones
  • A separate computer or other device to attend class on is recommended, as we will be drawing along together on our ipads during lectures and class time.

Interested students: please sign up by midnight January 10.

Note: All these courses meet online and will be recorded for your personal use or if you prefer to watch the recording on your own time and cannot make the class time.
