For Participating Artists:

All paintings must be started and completed on the day of the competition within the borders of Old Lyme, Lyme, and East Lyme. Paintings will be juried from 4:30–5:00 pm, with awards presented at 5:15 pm.

Awards:

• First Place: $300
• Second Place: $200
• Third Place: $100
• 3 Awards of Merit
• & a People’s Choice Award

All paintings will be offered for sale during the evening reception and exhibition at the Lyme Art Association. Artists receive 60% of the sale price; the Lyme Art Association retains a 40% commission.

The Artist Registration Fee includes participation in the plein air competition and admission to the reception for the artist and one guest.

Join us at 5:00 pm for the Paint the Town exhibition, reception, and Wet Paint Sale!

Throughout the day, Lyme Art Association artists will be painting en plein air, capturing the beauty and character of the places that inspire them. That evening, they will return to the Lyme Art Association to frame and exhibit their freshly completed works.

From 5:00 – 7:00 pm, enjoy an exhibition and sale of these one-of-a-kind paintings, along with hors d’oeuvres and live jazz by the John Brown BackPorch Trio. Awards will be presented at 5:15 pm.

Be among the first to view and purchase artwork created just hours earlier.

This is a wonderful opportunity to meet the artists, celebrate the plein air tradition, and take home an original painting.
