2026 Plein Air Painting Group Artists: Did you create a piece during one of the painting sessions on Monday Mornings and want to let people know it is for sale?
Now you can post those pieces here on the Lyme Art Association website. LAA is creating a gallery page dedicated to showcasing your 2026 plein air group paintings that are available for purchase. To add your piece to this online gallery, use the below button to submit your work online.
For each piece, include its title, medium, size, price and an image. Image files must be a JPG, JPEG or PNG file and no bigger than 4.5 MB. The form allows you to submit up to four pieces at a time.
To submit work, you must be an LAA member and signed up for one of the 2026 Plein Air Group Painting Sessions that meets on Monday Mornings. This online gallery is not juried and there is no charge for submitting work to it.
For any sales: 60% to Artists, and 40% to LAA (stardard commsion).
Plein Air Painting Group - Subscription Series
Lyme Art Association artists have a long tradition of plein air painting at wonderful locations, featuring landscapes, farms, town views, and marine and seascape locations in and around Old Lyme. And that tradition continues this year with the Lyme Art Association again providing various outdoor places to paint as a part of the Lyme Art Association’s plein air group.
Coordinated by the Lyme Art Association, this friendly and intrepid group meets weekly on Monday mornings to paint outdoors from late spring to early fall with three different sessions to choose from. The locations for this series include both private, semi-private and public locations.
Registration is required, and is capped at 30 participants per session. Car pooling may be required for some locations. Each session costs $80. Each session will end with a Lunch & Critique at LAA on the last date of the session. Members may sign up for one or more sessions.
There are two sessions to choose from:
- Session 2: July 6 – August 31: $80
- Session 3: September 8 – October 26: $80
- Please note: the first date of Session 3, Sept. 8, will meet on a Tuesday, all other meeting dates are on Mondays.
2026 Plein Air Exhibition Dates: TBD
The painting group’s season wraps up each year with a gallery exhibit. Plus, each session will wrap up with a critique. Paintings made with the group will be eligible for the fall exhibit. Exhibit on view in the Mile Brook Gallery.

Plein Air Painting Group - Public Series
Artists from the Lyme Art Association have a long tradition of plein air painting! There are many wonderful locations featuring landscapes, farms, town views, and marine and seascape locations in and around Old Lyme.
For the Public Series: All LAA members are invited to meet at the following public locations, and no registration is required.

Monitored Painting Groups
Come join one of our friendly monitored painting groups. Paint or draw from a live model in a relaxed atmosphere. These figure painting groups are for artists who can work without formal instruction, in the medium of their choice, and who can benefit working from a live model.
The Portrait Pose Figure Monitored Session

Class Cap: 11 people
Mondays, 9 am – 12 pm

Fee: $135 for each six week session for a minimum of 6 people*. Model fee is included.
*Price will be adjusted downward if more than 6 people sign up per session.

Art Is! Thursday Short Pose Figure Monitored Session
