Art Programs

Beginner, Expert, or Art Lover

The Lyme Art Association has a painting group, class, workshop, lecture or other program that will elevate your technique, exercise your creativity, or enrich your understanding

Weekly instructional classes generally meet for three hours at a time on a weekly basis for 6 – 10 weeks.  With capacity limits kept small between 10 – 12 people, there are opportunities for more personalized instruction due to our low student-teacher ratio.

Workshops are all day, 2 – 5 days in a row. Opportunities for beginners as well as master classes are offered throughout the year. By keeping our capacity limits small between 10 – 12 people, our students have opportunities for personalized instruction due to our low student-teacher ratio.

The Plein Air Painting Group and the Monitored Painting Sessions are great non-instructional opportunities to work together with other artists, either with a live model in the studio or in an en plein air (outdoor) setting around Old Lyme and its neighboring areas.

Artists at all levels have room to learn and grow. A critique of your work is a powerful tool to improve your art.

Art Demonstrations at Lyme Art Association are a great way to learn about an artist and their process.

The Lyme Art Association presents lecture series in the fall and spring of each year.
