Celebrate the beauty of the fall garden through the timeless technique of ink stippling. In this hands-on workshop, students will learn how to build form, texture, and value using thousands of carefully placed dots while creating a detailed drawing of a chrysanthemum or other seasonal floral subject.
Through demonstrations and guided exercises, we’ll explore how stippling can be used to describe layered petals, subtle transitions of light and shadow, and the intricate textures found in botanical subjects. Students will learn techniques for controlling dot density, developing value structure, and creating convincing depth while gaining confidence.
Suitable for both beginners and experienced artists, this workshop provides a thoughtful introduction to botanical stippling and offers a relaxing, observational approach to drawing. Participants will leave with a completed floral study and the skills needed to continue exploring ink-based botanical illustration on their own.
