A Connecticut History

In the summer of 2026, in celebration of the United States’ 250th birthday, the Lyme Art Association is having a special art show, titled A Connecticut History, which honors, questions, and illuminates the distinguished stories, people and places that continue to shape Connecticut’s identity. The show is on view June 5 – July 17.

A Connecticut History consists of landscapes, portraits, still lifes, and sculpture related to the history and identity of Connecticut. It includes traditional & historical scenes, contemporary reinterpretations, plus conceptual approaches to depicting the state’s people, places and stories in order to create a show that honors tradition, reflects change, and offers fresh and illuminating perspectives on what defines and shapes Connecticut’s identity.
