In this class we will focus on essentials of color theory including ways color affects the viewer, and how to use color to develop mood and atmosphere in your paintings.  In addition to understanding the color wheel we will explore how to make decisions about which pigments to use to create effects related to the changing seasons, weather and source of light in a land or seascape. Topics will  include  monochromatic color schemes, split complementaries and triadic color schemes to help students find new ways to use color to create paintings that will draw the viewer in. 

Class includes instructor demos in oil and watercolor and individual instruction.
