Study master portrait artists like Leonardo da Vinci, Albrecht Durer, Edgar Degas, Peter Paul Rubens, Vincent Van Gogh and others to discover their techniques of creating timeless portraits and then transfer these lessons to your own contemporary portraiture. We will first duplicate these drawings with a variety of materials and then create a new portrait of your own of a different image using these various techniques with the emphasis on anatomy by showing the planes and rhythm within the head. This course will broaden your knowledge of portrait drawing and give you the skills to transfer these techniques to create your own effective portraits.
