People have documented their gardens in words and pictures for centuries. And, now you can continue the tradition embraced by Gustav Klimt, Beatrix Potter, Claude Monet, and Frances Hodgson Burnett.

During this six-week course, we’ll explore both how to create a garden art journal, and how to use it to improve your gardening experience. We’ll discuss a wide variety of topics, including:

  • Sources of garden, art, and journal inspiration
  • Botanical illustration
  • Native plants
  • Using color, texture, and composition
  • Pollinators and other garden visitors
  • How to make your art journal both a useful tool and a lasting memento

Whether your garden is patio-bound or acres in size, garden art journaling offers a way to learn, record, and reflect on the act of cultivation.

And it doesn’t matter if your artistic and horticultural experience are at beginner or expert levels. This course offers a no-rules, no-pressure environment for you to simply enjoy the act of creating—through art, through writing, and through the simple, miraculous action of planting something.
