Class Cap:

12 people

This two-day workshop focuses on painting small still lifes in oil alla prima—from life, wet-into-wet, in a single session. A simple pear, a few onions, or a teacup and fruit can become a beautiful, complete work of art—proof that small and simple can still feel rich, luminous, and deeply satisfying to paint.

Students will learn a clear, three-stage process for creating fresh, painterly paintings with light, shadow, depth, and glow, while avoiding overworking.

Through demonstrations and guided painting time, you’ll learn how to make confident decisions and take a painting from start to finish in one day. Participants can expect to complete 2–4 finished oil paintings and leave with a repeatable process they can continue to use in their own studio practice.

This workshop is ideal for painters who want to:
● Simplify their oil painting process
● Work more confidently from life
● Create fresh, painterly results
● Finish paintings in a single session

All levels welcome.
