Fear of mistakes in watercolor can often prevent painters from truly exploring what the medium of watercolor can do.  In this workshop we will focus on helping students to explore ways to experiment with watercolor and to trust in the process while letting go of a set outcome.

We will practice expressive approaches to watercolor to help students to be more spontaneous in brushwork and to understand how to mix pigment and water to create interesting effects rather than trying to overcontrol the process.

Through demos, individual instruction and small studies, We will paint a variety of subject matter that may include land and seascapes, flowers, semi abstract images, and students may bring their own images to paint.

It is recommended that students bring a small spray bottle in addition to the watercolor materials list.

All levels of students welcome.
