The Lyme Art Association’s sporty fundraiser, Swing for Art, is coming back in 2026, but this time as Pickleball, the entertaining sport that is fun for all ages!
Join us for an exciting day of pickleball, community spirit, and friendly competition — all in support of the arts!
The Lyme Art Association is thrilled to launch Swing for Art, our inaugural pickleball tournament fundraiser. This high-energy event will bring together players from across southeastern Connecticut and Rhode Island for a day of fun on the courts while raising critical funds for LAA’s exhibitions and education programs.
Whether you’re a seasoned competitor or newer to the sport, there’s a division for you.
Tournament Schedule
11:30 AM – 1:30 PM
Novice & Beginner Division (skill levels 2.0–2.5)
1:30 PM – 3:30 PM
Intermediate & Advanced Division (skill levels 3.0 and above)
- Each division is limited to 48 players. Early registration is encouraged as space is limited.

All proceeds benefit the Lyme Art Association, a nonprofit organization dedicated to exhibiting, preserving, and promoting representational art and providing arts education to our community.

For over a century, the Lyme Art Association has been a cornerstone of the arts in Old Lyme. Funds raised through Swing for Art will directly support exhibitions, educational programs, and the continued vitality of this historic arts organization.

Please register for the division that best reflects your level of play:
2.0 – Beginner
New to pickleball; learning rules and scoring; limited consistency.
2.5 – Advanced Beginner
Can rally and serve; developing control; still building consistency.
3.0 – Intermediate
Sustains rallies; consistent serves and returns; understands positioning.
3.5 – Strong Intermediate
Strategic play; consistent volleys and dinks; competitive recreational player.
4.0 – Advanced
Controls pace and placement; strong teamwork and strategy; tournament-level recreational
player.
4.5+ – Advanced/High-Level
Highly consistent and competitive tournament player.
- If you are unsure of your level, please select the division that best matches your typical recreational play.
- Novice & Beginner Division players (Skill Levels 2.0 – 2.5) will play in the morning tournament from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm.
- Intermediate & Advanced Division players (Skill Levels 3.0 and above) will play in the afternoon tournament, which is from 1:30 – 3:30 pm.
- There will be 2 tournament Divisions:
- One at 11:30 am for novices & beginners;
- and a second one at 1:30 pm for Intermediate & Advanced players.
- Registration is limited to 48 players per division.
- Players will be grouped appropriately by the tournament directors.
- A Mystic Indoor Sports liability waiver must be completed as part of registration.
- Registration fees are non-refundable but transferable if the event sells out.
About the Event
Swing for Art is a new, high-energy community fundraiser bringing together up to 96 players from southeastern Connecticut and Rhode Island for a day of friendly competition and philanthropy. The tournament will feature two skill divisions and a raffle to increase proceeds for the arts.

Do I need a partner?
Players may register individually. Pairings and formats will be organized by tournament
directors.
What format will the tournament follow?
Format details will be shared prior to the event and will depend on final registration numbers.
Will there be prizes?
Yes! Prizes and raffle opportunities will be available.
What should I bring?
Paddle, appropriate court shoes, water bottle, and competitive spirit!
Is this event indoors?
Yes — all courts are indoors at Mystic Indoor Sports.
What if I need to cancel?
Registration fees are non-refundable but may be transferable to another player if space allows.

Your participation as a Sponsor, Player, or Cocktail Party Guest will help ensure a fun-filled afternoon on a most deceptively challenging 9-hole course! Players can sign up as an individual or as a group. We will happily create teams of four when needed.
- $175 per player (includes golf & cocktail party)
- $75 cocktail party only
There will be Surprises, a Special Perpetual Trophy, No Long Speeches, Challenging Contests, a Cocktail Party and FUN ~ FUN ~ FUN!
